Assessment

Occupational therapy assessment is critical in determining the people’s specific strengths and challenges in daily tasks performance. We carry out standardised occupational therapy assessments for children, youth, adults and older people. We offer the following assessments inclusive with report plus a follow-up 45-minute Zoom or face-to-face session to discuss assessment outcome, recommendations and suggested plan.

Canadian Occupational Performance Measure [COPM]

The COPM is an evidence-based outcome measure designed to capture people’s self-perception of performance in everyday living over time. The COPM measures people’s performance and satisfaction in self-care, productivity and leisure. This assessment initiates the conversation with people about performance issues in everyday living and provides the basis for setting goals and identifying interventions.

Sensory Assessment

Sensory assessment is a standard measure of people’s sensory processing patterns and effects on their performance in daily living at home, school or work. The assessment is designed for the people to self-evaluate their response in everyday sensory experiences. Sensory assessment involves the exploration of people's sensory preference to self-discover and self-identify sensory approaches that works for them.

Assessment of Motor and Process Skills [AMPS]

AMPS is an observational assessment of the people’s ability to carry out activities of daily living (ADL) such as meal preparation, house cleaning, shopping.  The AMPS measures the quality of a people’s ADL performance by rating the effort, efficiency, safety, and independence while a people actually performs chosen, familiar, and life-relevant ADL. The results of the AMPS are used to determine a people’s need for services, to identify the people’s goals, and to develop a plan to meet people’s needs. AMPS establishes baseline performance and evaluates for change in performance.
